This book is definitely not a story book - there isn't a plot or any adventure in it. The book is just a handful of pages about each of the paw patrol characters. They don't save anyone or anything. It flat out ends after they say they are ready to go on a mission.The only redeeming factor that my son loves are the 2 pages of stickers. Without those, this book would be a waste in a small child's mind. They want the story and the excitement. Come on, we all know that our kids know WHO these characters are at this point. I was very disappointed and very happy that I had bought another Paw Patrol book with an actual story.
The best part of this book is all the stickers it includes. My son had a great time choosing where to put them (on his toy shopping cart, his sticker book, his plastic toy bins). They are a little hard for a two year old to peel the stickers off the page, but with some help it's no problem. The story is basic, just telling about each pup and how they use their special tools to save the day. We did learn some facts about our favorite Paw Patrol characters (Skye is a Cockapoo pup, who knew!), and my son likes to read this book on a regular basis.
My 2 1/2 year old loves this book. We included it in his giant easter egg this year and he has us reading it to him EVERY NIGHT. It basically introduces each member of the Paw Patrol with each page devoted to a specific pup or Ryder. It details what cool tools they each have to use when needed and what they enjoy doing. Honestly, I plan on getting more of these books instead of the Golden ones. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE these.
If you or your child loves paw patrol- BUY THIS BOOK.I have bought probably 5 of these.My kids LOVE reading them, and they LOOOOOVVE the stickers.It is everything a child could ask for. ;)Seriously though, all joking aside-This book is fantastic & inexpensive.Great purchase! I am sure I'll be buying more soon.
My five year old is all about Team Umizoomi, so she begged me to download this book. Turns out it's the same plot as one of the television show episodes. While the plot is a little flimsy (Geo, Bot, and Mili go on a quest for the Blue Mermaid who is being held captive by an evil squid), the plot is merely a vehicle to get the children to count things. I know it's just a kids' book and I shouldn't care, but for some reason it bugs me that when TU find the Blue Mermaid the Squid starts to cry and says that and the reason he's captured and imprisoned the Mermaid is because her scales glow in the dark and he's afraid of the dark. TU and the Mermaid all forgive him for the kidnapping because all his badness was really because of his phobia. Obviously, this book won't ruin your child or anything, but the message is a little meh.
Paw Patrol fans will love it...my nephews who received it on their 5th b-day (mid Nov 2014) loved it. Since I gave them a couple of other books they can't read on their own yet, this is really great to give to them in contrast 'cause they CAN DO some of the activities in this without adults helping. They really love this show that's for sure and definitely anything Paw Patrol per my sister-in-law.
My son loves his paw patrol book and was delighted that it came with stickers. The story is non existent, they pretty much just introduce the paw patrol members and what they're in charge of but it makes my toddler happy and that's what counts!
Great book for readers and non readers. My two year old cannot read but loves paw patrol, so we look at it together, the story is easy to follow and the colors are bright. Stickers are a nice added bonus too.
