I am a faithful reader of Richard and Jeff's daily blog. So, when I learned they were writing this book - I jumped for joy! There are so many great nuggets of wisdom and true guiding fundraising principles from which both new and veteran major gift officers can benefit. It is exceptionally easy to read and understand; and doesn't get wrapped up in all of the "development speak", but truly focuses on what's important - putting your donors first, making them part of your mission and being passionate about fundraising. Now a staple on my desk, I anticipate referring to it often. Kudos Jeff and Richard on an excellent book!
This is a great motivational book that brings you back to why you went into the nonprofit arena in the first place. Read this and get inspired. Also includes lots of ideas on how to improve donor relationships and communications.
If you're a fundraiser, you're going to want to read this. I've been at it for 27 years, and still I pick up some very practical tips from Richard and Jeff. They are ever so applied and not at all about theory. (Who needs theory; I'm not a professor, I'm a fundraiser!) Thanks so much fellows for the great work. I hope you are very successful.
